"After you learn the "law" of the case you are working on, and after you've found citations to statutes and, preferably, also citations to controlling appellate court opinions, the NEXT STEP is to state a cause of action for which the court can grant relief. Without knowing how to properly state a cause of action, all your knowledge of the law will fall on deaf ears. You are encouraged to dispute about the "law", what it is and what you think it should be, however the success you seek will be in the courts where you must cleverly defeat crooked, lying lawyers and FORCE judges to do what the "law" you cited requires. There is not getting around this truth. It doesn't matter what you feel or believe and, frequently, your "feeling and believing" gets in the way of your success. Winning in court depends on certain things that will not change. First, the facts and law must be on your side, i.e., that you have a "winnable case", else nothing you do will prevail. Next you must do as I say in this short message. There are NO OPTIONS. When the facts and law are on your side and you can cite the statutes AND "controlling appellate court opinions", you are half way to the success you seek. The rest is playing the game! Alleging all the essential facts your causes of action (or affirmative defenses if you are defending), then using discovery and courtroom objections to put the facts on record, prevent your opponent from cheating, and FORCE the judge to rule in your favor, whether she likes it or not. Allowing yourselves to stew about the corruption isn't helping any of you. Read Charles Dickens "Hard Times" and "Bleak House" to see that court corruption is not a new thing. Indeed, Jesus was convicted by a corrupt court that broke its own rules! NOW is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country ... not party, friends. Country. NOW is the time for each of us to work for others, to help others gain the knowledge necessary to control the damned corruption, instead of merely complaining about it. YOU CAN control the corruption. Millions of courageous souls gave their lives to secure for you a set of rules that are FAIR and POWERFUL to favor those who have the facts and law on their sides. Please turn your focus to learning those rules. Then help your fellow countrymen to USE those rules to SHUT DOWN that crooked judges and lawyers by properly alleging causes of action and affirmative defenses. Use the Rules of Evidence and instant courtroom objections to prevent the crooked lawyers from getting the upper hand. If you're a criminal defendant, use the Rules of Evidence and courtroom objections to poke at least one hole in the prosecutor's case so there is reasonable doubt with regard to the essential elements of the alleged crime. What this all comes down to is being responsible citizens, but not doing this just for yourselves individually, but helping others in their battles against state corruption. As Smoky Bear says, "Only YOU can prevent state corruption!" Nobody is going to do it for you. HELP EACH OTHER to learn the things stated in this post. There really are no options. Only the truth is true, nothing else is. If you can see the wisdom in this post, copy and share it with others. America need not fall into the hands of corrupt rich people. YOU ARE AMERICA. And, if you are in other nations reading this, the same thing applies, because "America" is an ideal, a light set on a hill, the hope of mankind to make this planet safe for everyone someday. You can rise above the petty complaining (that doesn't help anyone in any way) and focus your energies on learning the rest of what you need to know to put what's written here to good use, overcoming our common enemy: darkness. People are not your enemy. Darkness, ignorance, fear ... those our our common enemies, and together, helping each other (instead of focusing only on your own personal legal issues) can and must overcome those enemies.
