The Faces of NJ Transit/Coach USA Pedestrians Killed By Their Drivers & Ignored By Governor Murphy

Street Blog: A Mother, a Father, a Son, a Daughter – These Are the Faces of NJ Transit and Coach USA Pedestrians Killed by Their Drivers and Ignored

  • Here are the faces of the NJ Transit and Coach USA death victims in New Jersey.
  • Here are the names of the victim's murder by the bus drivers and train engineer.
  • NJ Transit and Coach USA victims company ignores pedestrian deaths killed by bus drivers but honor bus drivers killed by Covid-19.
  • New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says his goal is to bring the Covid victim's death to zero but does not have the same plan for the bus drivers' killing pedestrians.

These New Jersey pedestrians were killed by NJ Transit and Coach USA bus drivers and train engineers. For more than 15 years, New Jersey pedestrians and passengers have been thrust with no justice of being killed by NJ Transit /Coach USA bus drivers and train engineers.

Sadly, these local Jersey journalists and editors do not write about all the lives that fall victims to NJ Transit’s deadly bus drivers and train engineers. New Jersey leader Governor Phil Murphy, Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti , CEO Kevin Cobertte, NJ Transit Board of Directors, Coach USA Director Sean Hudge, and other politicians have the power to make a change and do not acknowledge these deaths.

Nor do each victim’s township Mayor, Assemblyperson, Council people, and Senators also do not recognize these deaths caused by NJ Transit; or their subcontract bus companies like Coach USA and Academy that hired drivers to run NJ Transit routes. Why are there no articles or death counts recorded about all the lives murdered by these transportation drivers?

NJ Transit is outsourcing its buses and trains to other transportation companies. Transit is not correctly screening these companies’ drivers’ qualifications, driving records, job experience, and the community’s safety based on the increasing deaths.

Governor Phil Murphy gave his condolences to Covid victims, passing laws to mandate mask-wearing and other laws. Murphy does press releases about how many trained professional engineers and bus drivers graduated from training. Yet, he does not say anything about the lives murdered by the so-called trained professional drivers.

The Governor smiles on TV commercials, saying he keeps the people in New Jersey safe, which is all misleading information he conveys to the Jerseyan. There are two epidemics in New Jersey that are spreading in New Jersey that are killing people, and they are Covid and the increasing deaths by transit public transportation drivers. However, only one epidemic is getting all the attention, and that is Covid victims.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says his goal is to bring the Covid victim’s death to zero but does not have the same plan for the bus drivers’ killing pedestrians. Related article.

Murphy’s silence about these ongoing deaths shows he supports NJ Transit bus drivers, train engineers, and the subcontracted bus company killing citizens. NJ Transit and Coach USA deadly drivers have ravaged citizens from every walks of life, ethnicity, age, and career path that could have been our future leaders. These people were someone’s mother, father, daughter, son, niece, nephew, cousin, sister, brothers, grandparent, spouse, co-work, boss, and friends.

Yet the NJ Transit, Coach USA, prosecutors, bus driver Union, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Murphy, US Senator Cory Booker, US Senator Bob Menendez, New Jersey State Senator Nia Gill, Congressman Donald Payne Jr, other political figures, and Governor Phil Murphy do not care about passing a law to protect the passenger/pedestrian from the drivers. The citizens of New Jersey continue to remain inescapably dangerous by the incompetent bus drivers and train engineers.

NJ Transit bus Union is concerned about the bus drivers, engineers’ lives, and other works being claimed by COVID-19 but does not care about the pedestrian and passengers’ lives killed. Related article.

The Union officials have made several demands to protect workers, like more frequent bus sanitizing, hazard pay, N-95 masks, on-site testing, and more. And while NJ Transit has responded, delivering more employee testing locations, train conductor or bus operator’s jobs remains inescapably dangerous. However, the bus company Union is not trying to work with a politician to save lives to protect New Jersey citizens or create safety programs to teach the bus driver/train engineer to avoid citizens’ deaths.

Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver also does not say anything about these countless deaths either. Yet, she promotes social Justice. Many people are running New Jersey and do not care about the NJ Transit/Coach USA victims. They only care about making a profit, not the safety of pedestrians and commuters. NJ Transit and Coach USA generate an astronomical amount of money to install voice operation cameras on the train to let their drivers know there is danger on the track or a person so the train engineer can stop to save lives. The voice cameras should be on the bus to let the bus driver know there is a person in their dangerous spot so the bus can automatically shut down to save lives.

New Jersey needs to adopt a Vision Zero program like New York City to stop these increasing pedestrian deaths. It is sad that a New Jersey leader picks and chooses what deaths matter and what lives do not matter. The politicians create laws to protect NJ Transit bus drivers from pedestrians and passengers. And the local journalism writes articles to acknowledge NJ Transit bus drivers’ deaths but not the innocent people killed by the bus drivers. They act as if the bus drivers whom Covid victimized are valuable, but the victims who died by NJ Transit drivers are not beneficial.

These bus companies hire these bus drivers with lousy driving records, awful health conditions, and employment history that put passengers and pedestrian lives dangerous. When the bus drivers are suing, the bus company attorney deducts the drivers’ hearing, eye vision, and employment records. So the victims’ families will not shine the light on how bus companies are hiring incompetent bus drivers and keep them on the road. Some of these drivers are not equipped to operate the buses.

Dejectedly, these people killed in vain could have been prevented. If only the bus company put safety first like their mission states, instead of profits.

The dead victims’ families live in a constant nightmare, and life changes reality because the transportation drivers mowed down their family members. Moreover, they have to be in pain, knowing that the person who killed their loved ones continues to live their lives. Knowing their loved one’s life is cut short with no justice puts a burden to carry. We must not ignore the seriously injured victims who have been forced to live their lives with the loss of a body part. The victims’ lives are forever in pain by living a normal life to an abnormal one.

Many people killed by buses and train drivers hold no accountability, nor do any NJ Transit officials or others.

All too often, police hastily exonerate drivers while erroneously blaming bicyclists and pedestrians for their deaths, with no repercussion for the transit drivers. I think the public has a right to know whether these drivers have many accidents or whether they are held accountable by lawsuits or disciplinary panels, being fired without pay and pension. It’s conceivable that one driver could be responsible for more than one death and still be on the job. It is terrible that the news media has ignored the problem, only reporting individual accidents and deaths and not looking deeper into the issue.

New Jersey needs to implement a bill of a Right of Way Law that will hold up to the top penalty that is relatively minor: up to 120 days in jail and $10,00 in penalties. These victims did not deserve to be killed in vain the way they did, and the New Jersey leader is not acknowledging these people.

Let us take this time to reflect on those lives the bus drivers and train engineers claimed.

Let us come together to amplify our voice for the victims, raise awareness, and take action against the innocent lives until Justice is served.

Justice- Dan Hanegby Murder by Coach USA Bus Driver Was found Guilty Of His Death

New Jersey Street Blog: Justice- Dan Hanegby Murder by Coach USA Bus Driver Was found Guilty Of His Death     The charge has been leveraged infrequently since its implementation: between 12 and 70 times annually, according to Marco Conner, legislative director for Transportation Alternatives. There were 34 arrests on the charge in 2017, down from 41 in 2016, according to the city’s latest Vision Zero report. T  he bus driver who  killed  Citi Bike  rider Dan Hanegby last June was found guilty Monday of a low-level “right-of-way” charge, a small comfort for the victim’s family but at least a symbol of justice, cycling activists said. Coach USA driver Dave Lewis  was also convicted of the lesser charge, a violation for failure to exercise due care,  Manhattan Judge Heidi Cesare ruled in the bench trial. The conviction — which is rare in cases of drivers killing innocent cyclists — may not send  Lewis to jail, as the top charge is a misdemeanor punishable by 30 days. Hanegby’s widow, Sash

These confrontations often stem from the company's tarnished reputation. Coach USA has faced criticism for hiring bus drivers with a history of poor driving and problematic behavior, including individuals with criminal records deemed unsuitable for public interaction. Furthermore, the company failed to provide a documented training policy for its drivers, leading to inadequate preparation for handling vehicles in adverse road conditions. This deficiency in driver training was noted during previous safety audits, highlighting a significant shortcoming for Coach USA. It's worth noting that Coach USA insisted on keeping the settlement
